Building Service 32BJ Benefit Funds Collections Policy Update Effective June 1, 2025

Dear Participating Employer,

Please be advised that the Building Service 32BJ Benefit Funds have implemented changes to the Collections Policy, specifically in Section III, items E and F, effective June 1, 2025. These updates are designed to enhance the efficiency of our collections procedures and ensure timely and accurate contributions from all participating employers.

We urge you to review these updates carefully to avoid penalties, service disruptions, or delays/suspensions to employee benefits.

Summary of Key Changes – Section III (Items E & F)

Section III.E

  • The Funds will send a 30-day suspension notice to the employer and its participating employees.
  • Benefits will be suspended after the 30-day period if payment is not received.
  • Benefits will be restored once the employer:
    • Pays all outstanding delinquencies in full, or
    • Enters into a repayment arrangement with the Funds.
     

Section III.F

  • The Funds will issue a 30-day suspension notice to the employer and participating employees, starting two months after the CBA expiration.
  • All Fund Benefits will be suspended following this notice if contributions remain unpaid.
  • Benefits will be restored once:
    • The employer and the Union enter into a renewal CBA, and
    • The new CBA includes contribution rates approved by the Funds.
